The Blairsville Wedding Venue is a 4,000 SF adaptive reuse of an existing barn in Blairsville, Georgia. The owner wanted to convert the barn into a working wedding venue with the full event program: a banquet hall under the original timber trusses, a ceremony pavilion in the meadow beyond, and the support spaces that a venue running multiple weekends needs to deliver.

Studio RNB served as Architect of Record. The work began with documentation of the existing barn structure: dimensional measurement, structural reading of the original timber-truss framing, and a baseline of what the building could accept without losing the qualities that made it worth converting in the first place. The interior is now a single large banquet hall under the trusses with crystal chandeliers, polished concrete floors, and a mezzanine that reads back into the original carriage of the building.

Permitting in a Georgia mountain county with this kind of conversion is rarely simple. We worked through political barriers, navigated complex zoning restrictions, and coordinated with both state and local municipal review boards to land the project in compliance. The new addition and the ceremony pavilion were documented to match the existing barn's material language so the assembly reads as one site rather than as a barn with an annex pinned to it.

The building is complete. The certificate of occupancy has been awarded and the venue is in active use.
